C# Software Developer and Architect (m/f/d) - front end design for quantum technologies

Our R&D team is designing flexible and easy to use GUIs for our measuring instrumentation for quantum computers and related scientific experiments. We are looking for outstanding software engineers to become part of this challenge. We offer you a developer position with a challenging mission statement within GUI and API design, and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ growing R&D team.

Your task

  • Design and implement high performance C# UIs from scratch
  • Focus on high code quality providing robust, maintainable, and extendable code
  • Provide an excellent user experience for our high-end products
  • Develop high throughput C++ APIs (optional)
  • Take part in FPGA firmware development (optional)

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering
  • Experience with C# and its common GUI frameworks is an absolute must
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
  • Proven track record of key contributions to high performance GUIs
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns, both GUI and API design
  • Experience with measuring instruments is a plus

C++ Developer (m/f/d) - Backend for Quantum Instrumentation

Our R&D team is designing versatile backends for our measuring instrumentation for quantum computers and related scientific experiments. We are looking for outstanding software engineers to become part of this challenge. We offer you a developer position with a challenging mission statement within high-throughput C++ backend design, and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ growing R&D team.

Your task

  • Design and implement C++ backends for quantum technology instrumentation
  • Take part in the maintenance of our full-stack CI from FPGA to GUI
  • Implement high-level language bindings (e.g. Python, C#) e.g. with SWIG
  • Take part in FPGA firmware development (optional)

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering
  • Excellent C++ skills is an absolute must
  • Proven track record of key contributions to high-performance C++ code
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns
  • Good knowledge of high-level languages such as Python, C#
  • Experience with measuring instruments is a plus

Our development team is designing novel high speed digital pattern generators for quantum computers and related scientific experiments. We are looking for outstanding FPGA developers to become part of this challenge. We offer you an engineering position with a challenging mission statement within high end instrumentation within quantum technology, and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ growing R&D team.

Your task

  • Design high performance FPGA cores for complex digital pattern generation
  • Design low jitter FPGA based time-to-digital converters
  • Manage the CI for Swabian Instruments FPGA cores (optional)
  • Contribute to C++ backend design for our FPGA cores (optional)
  • Contribute to the hardware design for our digital pattern generators (optional)

Your profile

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctor degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • Excellent FPGA design skills
  • Experience with C++ backend design is a plus
  • Care for the detail
  • Good communication skills

Application Scientist - Quantum Technologies (China)

We are looking for an outstanding physicist with a background in photonics quantum technology or a similar research field and profound knowledge of the Chinese language and culture to strengthen our marketing and sales team in Stuttgart.

Your task

  • Support our customers with a focus on quantum technology applications
  • Evaluate and implement new applications of our streaming time-to-digital converters
  • Represent Swabian Instruments at major scientific exhibitions and trade shows
  • Design and implement application-specific demo setups and test benches

Your profile

  • PhD in experimental physics
  • Excellent communication skills with profound knowledge of the Chinese language and culture
  • You are passionate about finding solutions to technical challenges
  • Substantial expertise in data acquisition and single photon counting
  • Robust knowledge of several programming languages, e.g. Python, Matlab, C#
