C# Software Developer (m/f/d) - front end design for quantum technologies

Our R&D team is designing flexible and easy to use GUIs for our measuring instrumentation for quantum computers and related scientific experiments. We are looking for outstanding software engineers to become part of this challenge. We offer you a developer position with a challenging mission statement within GUI and API design, and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ growing R&D team.

Your task

  • Design and implement C# UIs for quantum technology instrumentation
  • Take part in the maintenance of our full-stack CI from FPGA to GUI
  • Develop high throughput C++ APIs (optional)
  • Take part in FPGA firmware development (optional)

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering
  • Experience with C# and its common GUI frameworks is an absolute must
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
  • Proven track record of key contributions to high performance GUIs
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns, both GUI and API design
  • Experience with measuring instruments is a plus

Electronics Developer (m/f/d) - Instrumentation for Quantum Computers

Our development team is designing novel high speed digital pattern generators for quantum computers and related scientific experiments. We are looking for outstanding electrical engineers (BSc or MSc) to become part of this challenge. We offer you an engineering position with a challenging mission statement within discrete circuit and PCB design in the field of FPGA interfacing, ASIC testing and high speed instrumentation, and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ growing R&D team.

Your task

  • Design high speed electronic circuits and PCBs
  • Prototype and test Swabian Instruments’ new hardware designs
  • Manage Swabian Instruments’ complete PCB production (external) and testing (in-house)
  • Take part in FPGA design of our firmware (optional)

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in EE, DH/FH/Uni
  • Experience in PCB design is an absolute must
  • Experience with RF design is a plus
  • Care for the detail
  • Good communication skills in German and English

PhD position on high-speed mixed signal IC design for sub picosecond jitter TDCs Swabian Instruments and the University of Stuttgart

The R&D team at Swabian Instruments aims at casting its unique knowledge in FPGA based TDC design into a cutting edge TDC ASIC and take the lead in terms of timing resolution and linearity. We are looking for outstanding electrical engineers (MSc) to become part of this endeavor as PhD students with us in collaboration with the Institute of Smart Sensors of the University of Stuttgart. We offer you a research position with a challenging mission statement and the possibility to become a key person in Swabian Instruments’ emerging ASIC design team.

Your task

  • Design a TDC ASIC with sub picosecond timing jitter
  • Simulate and research modern tapped-delay-line and Vernier based TDC architectures
  • Evaluate the performance of the fabricated chip and improve the design
  • Generate patents and publications and present your work on international conferences

Your profile

  • MSc in electrical engineering with a distinguished score
  • Above average general understanding of high-speed electronics
  • Excellent insight in analog IC design is a must (thesis or internship)
  • Previous experience with TDCs or PLLs is a plus
  • Self motivated and self learning
